2023 AAENP National Conference: EmergNP

The 2023 EmergNP Conference will be held Friday, March 31 - Sunday, April 2 at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, NY. The conference will promote high quality, evidence-based practice for nurse practitioners providing emergency care and those on their interdisciplinary team. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to collaborate and learn with your peers!

EmergNP is designed to provide emergency physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and PAs, as well as out-of-hospital providers, with state-of-the-art information on a wide variety of topics in emergency medicine. An emphasis will be placed on practical application of the evidence-based topics presented.

Conference learning objectives:

  • Describe current diagnosis, management and treatment of emergency medical conditions including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, poisoning, pediatrics, etc. based on the best evidence related to the topics identified by the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners as critical for maintenance of competency.
  • Develop systematic medical problem solving and patient management abilities in the emergency setting
  • Expand knowledge of common emergencies, their presentations, diagnosis and management, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options of care
  • Improve emergency clinical skills, including both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Describe current, evidence-based information to improve patient care and satisfaction in the emergency department.
  • Develop patient-centered, efficient, team-based care in the emergency department.

Two full days of education on Friday and Saturday of the event, including keynote presenters, breakout tracks and evening social hours

Two educational options on Sunday:
Procedural Track: A full day of procedural content, including EKG, chest x-ray, pulmonary embolism, fascia illiacus hip block and more. This track is included with your conference registration for no extra fee.

Ultrasound Workshop: $50 early registration / $75 regular registration

Ultrasonography has become an essential skill expected of emergency clinicians. In this course, you’ll learn how to use point-of care ultrasound (POCUS) to diagnose some of the most important problems seen in the emergency department or acute care setting. Ideal for anyone who is just starting to use POCUS. combined with the opportunity for intensive practice are the essential components in learning to be competent with ultrasonography in the emergency department.

  • Interactive, small group, 4-hour course (with access to supplemental online learning modules)
  • Emphasis on hands-on training and supervised practice
  • Skills may include Peripheral US IV Placement, Gallbladder/eFAST, FAT, Musculoskeletal and more
